All of our furniture, whether it's an imposing Philadelphia highboy, or a single drawer New England stand is built to the highest standards. When starting a new project, we use only the best grade hardwood available. Construction of each piece is exactly as the original was: using mortise and tenon joinery and hand cut dovetails. We use no automated joinery techniques using dowels or biscuits. You will also find no plywood used in any of our pieces. When building our furniture, we use secondary woods, the same as the original, and if custom making an object, we use secondary woods appropriate for that region and time period. All carving is done by hand and is matched to the original perfectly. Our hand rubbed, natural finishes are shellac, oils, and wax. Dining room table tops may have a varnished top, if requested, so as to provide added durability. We can custom match our finish to an existing one, or create a custom surface for you. We have been sought after by clients throughout the country for nearly two decades for our highly specialized finishes. We use Londonderry Brasses' hardware exclusively on our products. This is the highest quality cast brass hardware available. All pieces are labeled, signed, and dated. Our furniture is custom made and involves interaction between the client and the craftsman. We are happy to make you an existing piece we have already done, or design and build an object which fits your specific needs. We take great pride in what we do. This is what makes our furniture stand out from our competitors, retain its value, and provide you with a lifetime of function and beauty. All of our pieces are guaranteed to function as they were designed. Wood, being a natural product, will move with climatic changes and natural aging. In most cases, this adds to their uniqueness and natural beauty. We will repair or replace and object or part that becomes non-functional due to any error on our part. It is important to us that you remain completely satisfied with each piece for years to come. |
