Marshall High Chest

The power of this Philadelphia high chest of drawers is evident in its bold exuberant carving. The original, made in the shop of Henry Clifton and Thomas Carteret between 1750 and 1755, has influences of the British rococo style. Its open-work brasses and figured mahogany add to its exceptional quality.
